Our Mission

This research initiative is made possible by the Kautz-Uible Economics Institute, which supports enhanced learning and growth for students, faculty, and alumni of the University of Cincinnati's Department of Economics.

Thanks to a large gift from Dan Kautz and Woody Uible in 2019, an innovative research initiative became a key component of the Kautz-Uible Economics Institute.

Through this research initiative, economics students have the opportunity to collaborate with faculty on research projects. Along with faculty-student research, the institute also focuses on blockchain technology, nonprofit research and engagement, and corporate training.

Areas of Focus

Faculty-Student Research

Undergraduate and graduate students can participate in faculty-supervised research opportunities and earn economics elective credits.

Blockchain Research Lab

Students can learn about the emerging technology of blockchain and its applications within the field. Our students are currently working with companies like Cincinnati Bell and Kingsgate Logistics to develop proof-of-concept blockchain solutions.

Nonprofit Research and Engagement

In collaboration with the Leadership Council for Nonprofits, we offer nonprofit broad training for UC employees. Students conduct research in the nonprofit sector, and board members can apply their findings to improve their organization's programs and services.

Corporate Training

We offer short-term workshops about economic principles, strategies, and quantitative techniques for both emerging and established corporate leaders.
